CyanogenMod is always a favorite custom ROM for Android users since it gives the users a chance to taste the latest Android firmware versions on their devices. We have so far posted about a lot of unofficial and official CM builds for various devices. Now, through this article, I intend to give a tutorial on how to flash and install CyanogenMod in general.

Make sure that your device is rooted before proceeding into the guide. Also, install a custom recovery suitable for your device (Bonus Tip:  Install Any Custom Recovery in 30 Seconds [One Click Tool]).

NOTE: It is advised to take a backup, just to be on the safe side. (Tip : How to Create a Nandroid Backup Using CWM Recovery)

If you have the above requirements, then start over with the installation steps below to flash CyanogenMod.

Download the appropriate CyanogenMod ROM and Google Apps for your device. You can download the officially released latest version of CyanogenMod for your device from get.cm. Also, you can find unofficial builds from other places like XDA Forums.
Move the downloaded zip files to your memory card.
Boot into recovery mode using the volume and power buttons (switch the device off and hold the power and volume down buttons in one go till the bootloader show up).
Wipe data/do a factory reset via recovery. (You don’t have to do it if you are upgrading from an earlier CM build)
Install the CyanogenMod ROM you downloaded earlier.
Now, flash Google Apps via recovery.
Go back and reboot.
Your device will now boot with CyanogenMod ROM installed. For your queries, drop down a comment below and we’ll be looking in to it. Subscribe to our feed, follow us on twitter/Google+ or join us on Facebook for more useful guides!
